Foundation and Specialty GP ARCP

ARCP stands for Annual Review of Competence Progression.
It is a yearly formal review of how well a trainee is progressing.

This course is intended primarily for ARCP panel members, but may also be of interest to other members of the faculty - as well as for doctors in training. It may also be useful for other professionals using ARCP processes, such as dentists.

There are 3 modules in this course.

Please register before beginning any of the modules. If you are already registered, please sign in now.

Each module contains a suite of videos. Some videos end with a self-assessment. You may need to take notes, so please have a paper and pen available. There will be a brief summary assessment at the end of each module.

You need to complete the Introductory module plus either the Foundation or Specialty GP module, following which you will be able to print / download a certificate.

Introduction

This module provides an introduction to ARCP for Foundation and Specialty GP including:

  • What ARCP is
  • The role of a panel member
  • Who should have an ARCP
  • What information will be provided
  • Outcome codes
  • How ARCP relates to revalidation

This module should be completed before taking any of the others in this course.
It takes approximately 19 minutes to complete.

Foundation

This module is intended primarily for Foundation ARCP panel members, but may also be of interest to other members of the foundation faculty - as well as foundation doctors.
In this module we look at the Foundation ARCP in more detail.

Before starting this module, you should complete the Introduction module.
This module takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Specialty and GP

This module is intended primarily for Specialty and GP ARCP panel members, but may also be of interest to other members of the faculty - as well as doctors in training programmes. In this module we look at the Specialty and GP ARCP in more detail.

Before starting this module, you should complete the Introduction module.
This module takes approximately 16 minutes to complete.
