Lessons Learnt

In this module we introduce the Lessons Learnt patient safety project. The module is intended primarily for Foundation Doctors and Faculty involved in delivering the Foundation Programme within health organisations. However, the principles are important to all health professionals providing patient care.

There is one module in this course.

The module contains four videos. Each one is followed by a self-assessment. You may need to take notes, so please have a paper and pen available.

There will be a brief assessment at the end of the module, following which you will be able to print / download a certificate.

In this module we look at:

  • Patient Safety and why it is important
  • How Lessons Learnt can contribute to patient safety
  • How to run a Lessons Learnt session
  • Using the lessons learnt from these sessions to consider practical actions to promote patient safety

This module takes approximately 33 minutes to complete.
